Harvest

When outer shucks split, pecans are ready for harvest.

The shaker is headed for the tree trunk! Each tree gets a thorough shaking... A whole lot of shaking going on!

At harvest this tractor runs next to the tree sweeping pecans right and blowing the pecans to the left.

Lime delivery!

Always fixing something! Good thing Farmer McGhee is an engineer.
Installing irrigation! Sure is back breaking work but anything to get our trees some water which is pumped from our pond.
Machete is useful to stop baby limbs from growing on the trunk. We keep our trees manicured and control the growing if not we end up with a forest and not a farm.

This is the ditch witch that digs our trenches! So we can install irrigation to water the trees.

Testing our newly installed irrigation to ensure there's no leaks and the water pressure is flowing! Success in a job well done!
Alabama Pecan Growers Association 2020
